Groundworks packages for builders and developers.

Footings, drainage, oversite and slab, priced as a package and delivered on programme by someone who's read your drawings and managed bigger jobs than yours.

What I offer

If you're a builder in Doncaster doing extensions, garden rooms, garages or small new-builds, you've probably got a brickie and a roofer and you're either doing the groundworks yourself or waiting on a groundworker who's got three jobs on. I'll take the groundworks off you as a fixed-price package so the brickie starts on a finished base on the day you said he would.

A typical extension package: setting out from the architect's drawing, trench footings to depth, building control inspection, concrete, blockwork to DPC, foul and surface-water drainage with chambers and connection, hardcore, DPM, insulation and the slab. Muck away and machine included.

I also do reduced-level digs, site clearance, service trenches, soakaways for new roofs, and the hard landscaping at the end of the job if you'd rather hand it over than do it yourself.

Why I'm different from a groundworker on a day rate

I ran projects worth over £10 million as a PM, so I can read your structural drawings, talk to your engineer and your building inspector, and give you a fixed price rather than a day rate that ends when it ends. I hold SMSTS and a current First Aid certificate, so I'm legally able to manage a UK construction site under CDM. I'm also fully insured, I turn up when I say, and if the ground does something the drawing didn't expect I'll photograph it, ring you and price it before I carry on.

Scale isn't the constraint. On a bigger package I bring in trusted, accredited people I've worked with before to keep the programme moving, and I run them — SMSTS and First Aid, so I'm legally qualified to manage the site, which is what I did for five years on jobs worth millions before I started Greenside. You get that management rigour without a subbie chain nobody's accountable for.

I work on a package price for anything I can see the drawings for. For open-ended work (clearance, a dig where nobody knows what's there) I'll price a day with the machine and be straight with you about how many I think it'll take.

How to work with me

Send me the drawings and the postcode. I'll price the package within a couple of days, with what's included and excluded, and give you dates. My diary is real, because I'm the one who has to be there; if I say I'm on your job Monday, I'm on your job Monday.
