How much is a French drain?
From £1,150 for a straightforward run of about ten metres, including the dig, pipe, stone, fabric and reinstatement. Longer or branched systems are priced by the metre.
French drain or soakaway?
A French drain collects water along a length of ground. A soakaway takes water from one point and lets it soak away. Many jobs use both.
Can I drain water away from next door's garden?
You can intercept it on your side. It has to go to a soakaway, ditch or sewer, never back onto their land or the road.
